Heart Stopping Video – The Moment a Carnival Ride in India Malfunctions Sending it Plummeting 50ft to the Ground!
A carnival ride malfunction in India has resulted in a heart stopping video. Recorded by a carnival guest, the video clearly shows the tower drop style ride plummet towards the ground at high speeds. Free falling from a height of more than 50 feet before slamming into it’s steel base. The malfunction at the Phase 8 amusement park in Punjab’s Mohali district resulted in numerous people being hospitalized.
The horrible incident was caught on video by an amusement park guest at precisely the moment it came crashing to the ground from a staggering height of over 50 feet. In the video you can clearly see the bodies of the people on the ride violently thrown around.
Fifty riders were on the “drop tower,” a carousel-like ride that sends passengers hurtling down a vertical structure towards the ground at high speeds.
Sixteen people were injured after the carnival ride plummeted 50 feet to the ground due to a freak malfunction.
The terrifying accident occurred on September 4th, 2022 at the Phase 8 amusement park in Punjab’s Mohali district in India.
Things quite literally went south after an unknown malfunction caused the attraction to plunge 50 feet onto the base like a broken elevator, injuring 16 people.
In the footage, a lit-up circular carriage is seen plummeting down and crash-landing on the platform with frightening force, despite being strapped in, the riders were sent flying out of their seats.
The clip ends with people helping load the injured riders into a police van due to no ambulances being available at the fairgrounds.
“We picked up the injured and rushed to the hospital,”Statement made by an eyewitness named Jaspreet Kaur
He also said the fairground bouncers “threatened” them for intervening and that the “organizers also fled the scene.”
The victims, some of whom were as young as 10 years old, are reportedly receiving treatment at several hospitals in the area.
However, the extent of their injuries remains unclear. The cause of the freak free fall is also unknown, although carnival organizers blamed it on a “technical issue.”
