Angelica Carrasquillo-Torres, a 25-year-old fifth-grade teacher, at a Chicago area Catholic school has been arrested after allegedly creating a list of people she wanted to kill.

According to a news release from the East Chicago Police Department, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, officers responded to St. Stanislaus School on Indianapolis Boulevard. At the scene, officers learned that a fifth-grade student said their teacher, Angelica Carrasquillo-Torres, spoke about killing herself, students, and staff and even created a list of specific people she intended to kill.

She allegedly told the fifth-grade student they were on her list of people to kill. The student initially told school staff, and the teacher was sent to the principal’s office to talk about the incident.

Angelica Carrasquillo-Torres allegedly admitted to making a “kill list” and talking about it with the student. The teacher was told to leave and not come back to the school.

An emergency detention order for Carrasquillo-Torres was obtained on Thursday, Oct. 13, and and according to police, she was taken into custody. The investigation is still ongoing.

Carrasquillo-Torres was charged with intimidation in a threat to commit a forcible felony.
